Piano

We spent the day in town yesterday. I had a doctor's appointment in the morning and then had a list of places I wanted to go. We got side tracked though. We stopped by my MIL's and ended up staying there until it was time for piano. We had lunch, the kids did a few chores and we visited the rest of the time.

After leaving we stopped at the grocery store and picked up a couple of things we really didn't need but were so greatly discounted we couldn't pass them up. We got 8 pears for 25 cents, a dozen or more red potatoes for 49 cents and bagged lettuce for 88 cents. We definitely will use them and the picklets were as happy as larks to have fresh pairs in the house.

Piano was a great success for each of the picklets. Our piano teacher, whom we all love, is fantastic. I just can't rave enough...lol.

She is working on Beethoven's Fur Elise with Sweet. Sweet started pecking it out on her own and showed her teacher. Her teacher then sat down and played the whole piece, without music, for the picklets. Sweet continued to peck it out the next week so her teacher wrote down the notes she needed to play it but not on on staff so Sweet has to figure out what notes to use. It is great ear training and she is really into it.

Since Chip forgot his books last week she gave him Minuet by Mozart to play. He is finding it difficult (it actually sounded like It's a Small World while he practiced this last week) but is trudging along. She spent the whole lesson helping him with it and he is getting it. He played it for Cool last night and was very proud of himself.

Dill is doing marvelous at piano and according to the teacher, "Is really coming alive." I trust that is a good thing. She has asked him to play a song that his class will sing along to during Czech School this summer. This will take a lot of practice as he tends to really get into the songs he is playing and try to play them as fast as he can.

After lessons Chip was fitted for his new kroj for his coronation at the end of the month. He is going to look so handsome when the outfit is done. Their piano teacher's husband is making the outfit for him...I can't thank him enough!Chip:
