Officially THAT Family

Let me set the picture. Close your eyes...

Imagine yourself doing the dishes. Your 15 year old son comes in and says, "Something bad happened." You think to yourself..."I know he was mowing. I don't see any blood. No one is crying."

You ask weakly, "What?"

He replies, "I don't know how it happened. I wasn't even near the van."

THE VAN???

You hold your breath and ask, "What happened to the van?"

Breathing hard he says, "The back window. It broke." Relief comes over you because how bad could it be? You follow your shaking 15 year old outside expecting to see a little crack and what do you see?

As you get closer you hear a whole bunch of crackling. You look closer at the rear window and see this. The whole window is cracking and just waiting to fall.

You call your husband, who is stressed out because of an $86,000,000 (yes, that is 6 zeros) boo-boo at work and have to tell him the rear window is broken. And you thought doing dishes was all the fun you were going to have for the day! HA.

Anyway, the picklets had a good time breaking out the rest of the glass and vacuming it up. They each found a pair of gloves and tried, very carefully to pull the glass out. Unfortunately, most of the glass went in the back of the van. Messy, very messy.

We never did find the rock that flew up from the mower and hit the window. I thought it would be in the back of the van but it wasn't.

Chip and I made a makeshift rear window with what else but plastic and duct tape! I love duct tape. Heed my sound advice and buy yourself a roll, heck buy yourself 10, you won't be sorry. You never know when you will need to duct tape plastic to your van.

Sweet musta felt pretty bad for the van because if you look closely at the "rear window" you can see the bandaid to make it all better.

SWAK and all better.

Having a cracked windsheild (that incidently has a bandaid on it too)

AND plastic for a rear window definately makes us That Family. Fortunately we didn't have far to travel from being THOSE Homeschoolers.

Oh well. Live it, love it, be it. That's my motto anyway.
