Our Week Off

Taking the week off last week was just what we needed to rejuvenate, relax and reassemble ourselves for another week. We spent some time chilling, cleaning and eating well balanced meals.

We enjoyed time cozying up to watch Halloween movies such as Halloween Town 1 & 2, The Witches and Casper Meets Wendy. We made homemade hot chocolate with mini marshmallows to help take the chill off.

I went through all our VHS movies and parted with over 100 of them. The picklets have outgrown the Veggie Tales. It makes me so sad. But it has given us room for other things on the shelving, so that is good.

I also went through all our school workbooks and got rid of the books that we have outgrown or I know we won't ever use. I have those in a bag to donate to our homeschool association. The teachers will pass them out to others who can use them.

Sweet and Chip learned to use the sewing machine. Sweet made clothing for her American Girl Dolls while Chip worked on a project he hopes to take to a craft show.

Sweet also learned to embroider. She decided that the American Girls clothes needed to be decorated. It was a good opportunity to learn.

Dill worked very hard on his Wii Star Fox game. He is intent on beating it. He tells me about it and I just nod and smile. I can't figure it out...lol.

Chip and Sweet attended a skills clinic in Omaha this past weekend. They spent Friday night at Grandma and Grandpa's then rode with the coaches to Omaha. For 6 hours they worked on the gymnastics apparatus learning new skills. Sweet is very sore today. Chip has befriended some girls in the Omaha area and got their digits. He has been texting one of them quite frequently for the past two days. I know this clinic was good for his self esteem even if it did nothing for his gymnastics.

Cool put some shelving on the porch for me on Sunday. It has been in the plans for months and finally got done. Floor to ceiling. Room for the games and the bigger kitchen things I don't use a lot like the George Foreman, the mixer and bread maker. This will be really nice.

So, today is Monday and the schedule is back into action. Sweet has gymnastics at 6:00. I have to stop at the library and grocery store and I need stop at my mom and dads to help them install AVG. We are having Philly Cheese Steaks for supper but since we won't be home until 8:30 or 9:00 it will just sit in our tummies so I think I will change it to grilled cheese sandwiches and soup for tonight. Philly Cheese Steaks will be tomorrow. I just love those instant mind changes in the middle of typing.

Happy Monday!

Glad to hear that the week off was refreshing. I really need to get some de-cluttering done as well. It is sad to get rid of the younger movies, but like you said, then you can get new ones. My oldest sat and watched 30 minutes of Sense and Sensibility with me last week!
