Christmas Eve

It is 9 am on this Christmas Eve day. We were up at the butt crack of dawn delivering newspapers in the rain. Since, thankfully it was 35 degrees, it was just rain, not ice.

I then started cooking. We are having friends over for the day. No one can wait! Since it is cold, damp and icky I decided on soups to dine on. Lentil soup is on the stove, simmering away. Chili is split between two crockpots since the batch is so big! Beer bread and corn bread will be in the oven soon.

The aromas are wonderful, I am sure, but I can't smell because of the sinus infection. No electricity yesterday so I couldn't get my prescription. Will be ready soon.

Hope your house is warm and cozy, your family is safe and happy and your Holiday is the best it can possibly be.

From our picklebarrel to yours~~~

Season Greetings.
