This Day in History: Coca Cola

According to my radio, Coca Cola was introduced this day in history in (I think) 1890. (I didn't catch the exact year) Coke was made of wine and cocaine. During prohibition the wine was changed to syrup and, well, cocaine was outlawed. Here is some history, lesson plans, recipes and other uses for Coke.

We have been around Coke our whole lives. I think my mom even let me have some in my bottle as a little one. lol. We live about a 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta where Coke was discovered. If you are ever in that area you have got to visit The World of Coke. Great, fun field trip. We went a couple of years ago. At the end of the tour there is a large room with tons of fountain drink dispensers with many, many types of drinks that Coke makes around the world. Many of the brands I had never heard of. The kids love it because you can take all of them.
