Hump Day and Beyond

Wednesday seems to be the day that we are all tired. Tuesday nights Sweet has gymnastics until 9:00 making our get home time very close to 10:00. By the time sleep rolls around it is nearly 11:00. So we drag on Wednesday.

We rode into town with Cool this morning and dropped him off at work. I stopped by a gas station and bought a pumpkin spice cappuccino. Full of fat and calories but I felt I deserved it getting up at 3:30 and all. Of course that is just an excuse but I can deal with that at this point in the the day.

I let the picklets go back to sleep at my mom's house until about 10:00. At 11:00, when they finally crawled out of the stooper they were in, we left to get Pizza, Pizza! Little Ceasars, mediocre pizza at a decent price. We stopped by the post office and headed to Sokol. We ate our lunch of pizza, crazy bread and water while watching how things are made videos from Homeschool Freebie of the Day. I have to tell you, they were pretty lame as far as how things are made videos the kids are used to. I remember these from growing up and thought they were fantastic at the time but the picklets were not as impressed as I was at their age. The videos we watched were:

How Peanut Butter is Made ,Pretzels ,Plywood , Bicycles, Skis, Chocolate, Cards and Light Bulbs. Jonathon Winters and Woody Allen were in some of the videos attempting to make them comedic. I laughed but again, the picklets were not impressed.

I gave the picklets the work that I want done today. They must work at least 3 hours. They must work in all their subjects. Those subject include How To Do CTT, Speed Reading, Aleks Math and Weekly Journal. They must record their time in their time management journals and the time journaling is NOT included in their 3 hours. And, they must read in their books for 30 minutes which is also not included in their 3 hours. They are busy working right now giving me time to get some ducks in a row so to say. BBL

I started this post Wednesday. It is now Saturday. Where did the time go? The rest of the week went pretty well. There was gymnastics, CAP, school work, visits with grandma and a visit to Gaga's. She made dumplings and cabbage for us. Delish!

School, I feel, went pretty well also. The picklets continued to work with CTT and Aleks math. So far so good. They also played Stack the States and Rocket Math on their iPods. Stack the states has become a family favorite with the piclets asking questions from it and the rest of us racing to see who can get the answer out first. The picklets also watched How William Shatner Changed the World on the History channel yesterday. It was a very interesting show that kept the picklets interest the whole way through. Gotta like that.

Today brings more gymnastics, grocery shopping and hopefully a little extra sleep.

Have a good weekend.
