Our First Project

In a previous post I mentioned we are taking a sabbatical of sorts to get out from under the load of material pocessions we have. Our first project was to defrost the freezer. I didn't get rid of much but this had been hanging over my head for a month or so and I kept putting it off. It sure made harder work.

Luckily, some years ago, my MIL shared with me her secret to freezer defrosting. Unplug the freezer, empty what you can and have a fan blow on the the frost. From beginning to end it only took about an hour and a half. It was a cold job though...lol

Before I couldn't even tell what was on the first or second shelves. Nor could I get stuff out of the top two shelves on the door. Plus stuff was just thrown in where it would fit.
Afterward I know right where everything is. The top shelf contains beef and pork. The second shelf contains chicken and pizza sticks. The third shelf has french fries, bread crumbs and a few odds and ends. Shelf number 4 contains flour. The drawer has shredded zucchini from our garden, ears of corn that I froze, strawberries from our garden and some bags of frozen veggies from the store. The door contains strawberry jam, rhubarb jam, frozen pea pods (from the garden) and homemade salsa.
